No. It is not needed to replace failed double glazed units. Fensa and similar bodies are for replacement frames complete. Fensa certification is for new installations replacing existing frames. So no, not required.
Unfortunately not as it’s not just the width & height. We also need to know the thickness of the unit, type of glass and a few other more technical details.
No chance! I’ve seen loads of it over the years and the results are extremely poor. So many say they’ve gone down that road with much regret as the moisture returns within months, sometimes weeks.
